Symbol Pairings
Symbols carry meaning that is sometimes complementary and sometimes contradictory. The right pairing reinforces both meanings. The wrong pairing weakens both.
Pairings that work
Lion of Judah hoodie + Hamsa cap. Strength on the body, protection on the head. The two symbols reinforce each other.
Star of David T-shirt + Lion of Judah jacket. Identity declared at the chest, lineage carried at the back.
Letterform piece + any symbol piece. The abstract letterform composition does not compete with any symbol because it is the alphabet that builds every symbol.
Pairings to avoid
Two of the same symbol at the same time. A Hamsa T-shirt under a Hamsa hoodie is doubled-up rather than layered.
Phoenix with another symbol on the same garment. The Phoenix is the heaviest symbol and needs space to read.
Mismatched colourways across paired pieces. Mismatching reads as accidental even when the symbols are deliberately chosen.
